The goal of this project was to create a social campaign that blends both imagery and type.

This campaign is centered around the classic BIC lighter. BIC lighters are typically connected with the use of drugs, so the campaign is geared towards families as a necessary household object in order to subvert this connotation. It is reminiscent of classic 1950s advertisements to draw on traditional family values.

The hardest part of this project was finding a child model. The first child I had model for me refused to wear the outfit I bought and would not stop frowning and screaming at me. The second child I had model was too old and the prepubescent mustache he was growing was very distracting. Finally, I was able to find the perfect model and she was very excited to be involved.
